Most recent vehicle makes and models have front and rear rotor disc brakes. They provide better stopping power, faster actuation and more feel. While lifespans for disc brakes are generally shorter than assemblies fitted with drum brake shoes instead of pads, they provide more consistency. If encountering issues in either type of brakes, also check wheel hubs for wear, especially when they put out strange noises or vibrations that can hinder handling.
