The Fuel Pump that came with the car should get you at least 100 thousand miles if you're careful with what fuel you use and observe regular service intervals. Some can call it quits earlier, mainly from Fuel Filters past their use date, contaminated fuel, or electrical issues that reduce pressure and cause parts to heat up. Rusted tanks full of debris can also be another cause. If any of these Fuel Injection System parts fail prematurely, you'll see the car losing power, the engine sputtering, and hear whining noises from the tank.
